The Detroit Lions have won 15 games in a season. They have reached the conference championship game. The ONLY goal they have now is the Super Bowl. And believe it or not, they will likely have to accomplish that by winning less games than last year, and by possibly not even winning their division.
The schedule appears to be much harder than last year. Other teams may have improved more than the Lions. So based on that Detroit may only win 10 to 13 games this season. They still have one of the best rosters in the league, but there are question marks all around.
Defensive front four. Defensive backfield. Backup at QB. All areas of minor concern.
The Lions front office may not be done acquiring new talent however. The next 3-4 weeks will tell the story. But today that need is even more apparent. One of their key back up nose tackles Levi Onwuzurike is now out for the full 2025 season due to torn ACL.
This will create pressure on the very successful GM Brad Holmes to come up with a solution.
